Entrepreneurship Post-C19: Gender and Fnancing Abroad

Purpose. This study follows the trajectory in United States and India of 35 entrepreneurs with similar backgrounds India. It controls for irrelevant-to-this-study factors that impact financing entrepreneurial paths, sheds light into at-times contradictory gender findings literature.
 Design/methodology/approach. The is based on interviews upper-middle class from business-oriented Mumbai-Maharashtra, Out highly educated entrepreneurs, one third are women, 21 have educational experience U.S. 16 live controlled setting particularly fitting to examine effects offer suggestions digitally led C-19 recovery. Indian immigrants founded about a startups, besides more engineering technology firms than born next nine immigrant-founder countries combined.
 Findings. Both U.S., despite backgrounds, education, no dependents, or advantageous immigration status women start their businesses later, lack collateral equity partners, borrow less. 
 Practical implications. highlight potential debt crowdfunding as well other fintech services enhance opportunities entrepreneurs. Originality. first entrepreneurship an intercontinental environment. enables enhanced focus financing, priority academics, practitioners, policy makers.
